Beer Memorial Cross

About Beer Memorial Cross

Location: Fore Street, Beer,
Parish: Beer

The war memorial in Beer sits in front of the town’s St Michael’s Church, on the corner of Fore Street and Church Street.

Made of local granite, it is a tall cross on top of a stone plinth. As with the majority of British memorials, following the 1939-45 conflict, more names were added.

It reads: “To the Glory of God and in proud and grateful memory of the gallant men from the parish who gave their lives in the great wars 1914 – 1919 1939 – 1945. They Shall Not Grow Old."

Memorial Inscription
