Born in Ecclestone Place, London, to William Bull and Mary Ann Elizabeth (Rickards).
William married Ellen Alexandra Vowden on 5th February 1902 in Holiy Trinity, Littleham, Devon as a Private in Royal Marines and they had three daughters, all born in the Plymouth area.
Records show that the young Ellen lived with her parents George Vowden and Ann at The White Cross Inn at Colaton Raleigh and then lived in Exmouth where she was a servant until her marriage.
This is the nearest that can be found as to why William appeared in the Roll of Honour for Budleigh Salterton. Can anyone throw any more light on this family?
William served with the Plymouth Battalion of the Royal Naval Division, in the Royal Marine Light Infantry. He is buried in the Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery near Gallipoli.
