What we know about LANE Ernest John

Born in Bradninch, Devon, to Richard Burnett Lane and Rhoda Jane (Berry).  He lived there with his five brothers and sister.  By 1911 he was a Private with The Gloucester Regiment at North Tidworth barracks in Wiltshire.  The rest of his family were by then living in Broad Clyst.

Ernest is remembered on the Budleigh Salterton Football Club memorial board.
