Born in Devonport around 1895, George was the son of George Senior and Mary Sanders, of 5 Brookside Cottages, East Budleigh.
In 1911 he was working as a painter.
He died in France just a week before the end of the war while serving in the Army Service Corps in the motorised transport section.
Corporal DM2/162524 Sanders is buried in the Awoingt British Cemetery near Cambrai in northern France. Most of the 653 Commonwealth personnel buried there died in nearby casualty clearing stations.
Corporal Sanders is also remembered with honour on the East Budleigh memorials.
