Private 11028 Harold Hugh Riggs served with the 9^th Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment.

The battalion was formed in Exeter on 15 September 1914 and in August 1915 came under the orders of the 20^th Brigade, 7^th Division, having landed at Le Havre in France alongside the 8^th Devons on 26 July 1915.

Private Riggs died on 28 August, 1915, and is remembered with honour on the Colaton Raleigh war memorial, and at the Pont-Du-Hem Military Cemetery at La Gorge.
