Otterton Memorial Cross

About Otterton Memorial Cross

Location: St Michael's Church,
Parish: Otterton

In the grounds of St Michael’s church in Otterton is a granite cross, upon which are engraved the names of those connected with the village who died in the war. In 2008, restoration work was undertaken on memorial, as cracks had begun to appear at its base. Funding for that project came from the War Memorial Trust and FWS Carter through the South West Environmental Trust. The number of dead from WW1 commemorated on the memorial is 16. In the graveyard of St Michael’s Sapper Gilbert John Follett and Driver Cecil Charles Till, both of the Royal Engineers, are buried.
