Inside Budleigh Salterton's St Peter’s Church is a brass plaque Roll of Honour containing the names of 48 victims of World War One.  In the graveyard outside the church are seven burials of the war of 1914-18, including one unidentified sailor. Many of the fallen are also remembered on family headstones.

Good Lord deliver us: Great War 1914-1918. To the Glory of God in grateful memory of the noble example of those who have given their lives for their God, King and Country. Greater love hath no man that this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
